More than 250 people have been taken into custody in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of escalating federal border security operations, according to government statements.

Charlotte constitutes the latest American city to undergo strengthened federal presence, following comparable measures in major metropolitan areas like Chicago and Los Angeles earlier this year.
